There are many ways to get golds in World of Warcraft.
Every time I found a gold making guide, it only listed one or two methods done by the author himself. But the truth is, there are many available methods and options are in our disposal.
In this article, I will try to list the most lucrative ways of gold-making, and along the way we’ll cover the various pros and cons, the time needed to commit to each, and even a few helpful addons in the process.
The Two Most Important Rules
1. Make golds with what you love doing,
Otherwise you will quit in mere days or weeks out of frustration with little positive result.
The only case where this works, is when you need fast money.
This way, you can bite into it, think of the Queen of England, and earn what you need.
For long term goals, do only what you like doing.
2. Persist
Many gold making ways take time. Not in just hours or days, or even sometimes weeks. You need to keep at it and persevere.
Gold Per Hour
This is an important aspect of gold making; always look for the biggest bang for your buck. Unfortunately, this can rarely be measured by item price alone, as you need to consider the time and energy spent attaining your goal.
And for this very reason, there are Gold per Hour addons that will show you the best gains over time.

Fishing
What is it: Material gathering by using professions mentioned above.
Pros: Gathered materials are usually needed in large quantities, so selling them is generally fast.
Cons: It needs your full attention. Nodes can be farmed by other people.
Skill: Having a flying mount is advantageous in this method, as is the knowledge of where the nodes on the map are, and of course using your minimap. Multiboxing is very useful here as it will multiply the amounts of materials gathered.
Time frame: This option offers fast gold. Materials are usually needed in large quantities, and they are sometimes sold by the hundreds in a single day.

Raw gold
What is it: Killing mobs which drops either golds or items, that can be sold to a vendor for very good price. It is typically done within old content, mostly raids, which can be soloed.
Pros: You see your income instantly, with no dependence on how well items sell on AH.
Cons: It takes farming of the same spot over and over. Raids can be done only once in a week for each difficulty.
Skill: You will need a decent item level, with a willingness to run the same dungeons and raids over and over again.
Time frame: This depends on how much gold you want, and how much time you wish to spend on it, but overall it is relatively fast.
Addons: Anything that helps you kill mobs.

Smelting
Prospecting
What is it: Processing basic materials for another materials. Ore prospected for gems or melted into ingots, herbs milled into pigments, gear disenchanted for magical essences and dusts.
Pros: Your profession doesn’t need to be leveled to perform the necessary actions (except for smelting). It can be combined with the associated farming, or you can just buy materials at the AH if it suits you.
Cons: You need to learn the profession.
Skill: The profession you’ll need for processing.
Time frame: It takes longer to do this method while farming versus buying your materials from the AH, but it will get you more money than farming alone will. Materials for professions generally sell fast, so money is usually fast too.

What is it: Earning gold in exchange for some service connected to WoW. Boosting in PvP, PvE, level boosting, providing pets, mounts and achievements, commissions of WoW characters, investing golds in the gold-makers and more.
Pros: Good money for short time. RP realms offer a decent demand for art commissions.
Cons: You can only sell things of this nature on a player to player level. AH is not an option, nor are vendors, and you need the skill set to offer this or any service in the first place, and it may take a lot of time to be prepared (raiding gear, drawing skill, PvP skill, game knowledge,...)
Skill: This depends on the nature of each service. Good gear, a drawing skill, knowledge of game mechanics, guides for getting pets, mounts and achievements.
Time frame: This is fast gold when you already possess the skill!

What is it: Good old killing and looting.
Pros: Multiboxing will be a great help, and you get higher prices for higher quality items.
Cons: There might be other people farming at the same locations. This is killing mobs repeatedly.
Skill: Knowledge of item locations; Patience; Multiboxing.
Time frame: This can take time as you stock up on your item(s) of choice, but the gold will come once you start selling.
Addons: WorthIt, Rarity, Bagnon, Speedy AutoLoot
Crafting
What is it: Using game professions where you craft items from materials.
Pros: Crafted items usually have a higher price than materials do, so you can also buy materials on the AH if it produces a profit for you.
Cons: You need to have those professions and have them leveled.
Skill: Basic math.
Time frame: This takes about as much time as farming for items. They might not sell fast, and it can be problematic to sell larger quantities of the same gear.

What is it: Buying items on the auction house when they are on a low price and selling them back when their price rises.
Pros: No need to farm anything, it is all done while standing at AH. With pets, you can move money from one realm to another.
Cons: Requires big capital for the start.
Skill: AH.
Time frame: Big gold will come after some time when you learn which items are worth flipping, when to sell them, and when you will have a stable stock.
Addons: TSM, WorthIt, BattlePetCageMatch, Bagnon,
Ways of selling will highly impact your gold income.
Auction House
This is the best option for making big gold. Learning how to use it to its full potential can take time, but the payoff is well worth it.
A very helpful addon for the Auction House is ‘Trade Skill Master’. It might seem a bit complicated at a glance, but it can work miracles.

Vendor sell
This is the easiest of all methods, but it also has the smallest of gains.
Sometimes, though, it’s the only option you have, such as when you have items that ‘bind on pickup’ and lack the enchanting skill needed to disenchant it for its dusts and essences.
Direct sell to the player
Finding your buyer in real time can be a little difficult, but it can be a useful method in some ways.
For example, all services can be done solely with selling directly to other players.
Quite often, it’s just good to have an instant buyer and not sit around waiting for an auction to sell, or to find yourself consistently undercut by other players.
Generally speaking, ‘Trade Chat’ is used for advertising in game, but advertising can also be done via discord or any other communication/chat network/group ingame.
